Liverpool will be hoping to register another comfortable victory when they welcome Newcastle United in their next Premier League match on Sunday.

An excellent run of four wins from last six games has pulled Liverpool within three points of the fifth and final European qualification spot and while they have played a game more, Tottenham Hotspur’s poor run of form means that Liverpool have a great chance of overtaking Spurs and securing a place in Europe next season.

Liverpool took full advantage of Tottenham’s slipup against West Brom by securing a thumping 5-0 win over Birmingham City with Maxi Rodriguez grabbing a hat trick while Dirk Kuyt and Joe Cole were also on target.

Newcastle United on the other hand dropped two more points after managing just a draw against Blackpool last weekend. Peter Lovenkrands had opened the scoring early in the 17th minute but Blackpool managed to equalize through DJ Campbell and the Magpies had to settle for only a point from the game.

Newcastle will be missing a number of players though Hatem Ben Arfa could make a comeback while Andy Carroll could miss the clash against his former club with a knee injury.
