Arsenal will be looking to continue their push for a maiden title in five years when they travel to Birmingham this weekend.
The Gunners secured a clinical 3-1 win over champions Chelsea on Monday night. Goals from Alex Son, Cesc Fabregas and Theo Walcott nullified a 57th minute goal from Brainislav Ivanovic and gave Arsenal all three points, which enabled them to move to the 2nd spot on the league table. Manager Arsene Wenger will be delighted with his side’s position and will hope they can build on this win to give themselves a great chance for a title push at the end of the season.
Meanwhile Birmingham cooled their heels on Sunday after their game against Everton was called off due to the weather conditions. Birmingham manager Alex McLeish will hope his side can push away from the relegation zone in the upcoming games as they are languishing on the 17th spot on the league table. McLeish has confirmed that Marcus Bent can leave the club in January as he looks to bring in Robbie Keane in January.
