Manchester United could be without Wayne Rooney when they welcome Chelsea in one of their most important games of the season on Saturday.
The defending champions could go four points clear at the top of the table if they beat Chelsea this weekend and fans will be desperately praying that their most consistent player this season will be available for selection in a game that could very well decide who will be lifting the title this season. Rooney twisted his ankle in United’s 2-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League with manager Alex Ferguson refusing to confirm whether Rooney will be available for the weekend.
Chelsea on the other hand have responded well since crashing out of the Champions League, scoring 13 goals in their last two games including a thumping 7-1 win over Aston Villa last weekend. Manager Carlo Ancelotti will be confident that his side can repeat their performance from early this season and come away with all three points from Old Trafford.
Apart from Rooney, there are no major injury concerns for United while Chelsea will be missing Ricardo Carvalho, Ashley Cole and Branislav Ivanovic who are all out injured.
