Everton welcome Liverpool for the first Merseyside derby this season on Sunday with both teams looking for a much-needed win.

Everton registered their first win of the season prior to the international break when they beat Birmingham 0-2 away from home. In the process, the Toffees also ended Birmingham's 13-month unbeaten home record and took pressure off manager David Moyes. The latter will hope his side can take advantage of the turmoil at Anfield and grab all three points from this game. Moyes will be without Steven Pienaar, who could be out for a month with a groin injury.

Meanwhile Liverpool are a club in crisis and are languishing on the 18th spot in the league with 6 points from 7 games. Manager Roy Hodgson has welcomed a bid from Boston Red Sox owner NESV as the fight for control of the club goes to courts. Hodgson will hope his players can focus on the game at hand and get a much-needed win on Sunday and lift fans and management alike.
