Manchester City welcome Newcastle United to Eastlands for their next premiership encounter in a confident frame of mind this weeken

The Citizens humbled Chelsea 1-0 last week thanks to a lone goal from skipper Carlos Tevez to underline their title credentials. Boss Roberto Mancini is battling a defensive crisis with Pablo Zabaleta, Vincent Kompany and Kolo Toure the only fit personnel at his disposal. However he will be confident of continuing his side's winning run against Newcastle.

Meanwhile the Magpies will be aiming to bounce back following a 1-2 defeat to Stoke last week. Kevin Nolan's 43rd-minute penalty had given Newcastle the lead, but Kenwyne Jones restored parity on 67 minutes before an own goal from James Perch handed Stoke all three points. Manager Chris Hughton will hope his side's good away form continues in this game, but will know that his defence may take a battering from Man City's stars. Danny Simpson and Danny Guthrie should be back for this game, but Steven Taylor and Dan Gosling continue to miss out.
