The Champion’s League Group E will see Bayern Munich entertain Basel in the Allianz-Arena on Wednesday 8 December.
The German side are top of the table and have already qualified for the knock out stages thanks to some stellar performances from Gomez, who is the competitions second top scorer on six goals, and a real contender for the golden boot. Schweinsteiger has also displayed his worth to the club and due the fact that they lost to Roma after going ahead in their last out he will want to fix a lot in the midfield. They will have to argue the toss with Luis Van Gaal though as he tries to preserve their chances of taking another Bundesliga title next year.
Basel could still qualify if things go their way but they will have to beat Bayern on their own turf if they want to do so. Even then the ball will still lie in Roma’s court as they only need to draw against CFR Cluj to be certain of knockout stage football.
