Manchester United enter what has been termed by manager Alex Ferguson as the most important period that could decide their title credentials starting with a visit from the current league leaders Arsenal on Monday.
United play Arsenal on Monday and follow it up with a trip to defending champions Chelsea next weekend. With his side just one point behind Arsenal and one above Chelsea with a game still in hand, Alex Ferguson will be hopeful that his side escapes from the double header with minimal damage.
The Red Devils had won both their league games against Arsenal last season and have also won four of the last five games between the two sides. With his side slowly returning to their best form, Ferguson will be confident that they can make full use of their home advantage to claim three vital points on Monday.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger on the other hand will be aware that a defeat against United could prove to be a demoralizing effect on his players as he looks to build on their excellent start to the season by posing a serious challenge to claim the league title for the first time in more than six years.
