West Ham boss Avram Grant may be in last chance saloon when his side takes on Manchester City this weekend.
The Hammers slumped to yet another loss last weekend when they were beaten 1-0 by Sunderland. Jordan Henderson scored the only goal of the game in what was a poor display by Grant’s men. The boss was optimistic about his side’s survival chances, but fans and the management might not take that view. To top this, the Hammers may have to face up to life without skipper Scott Parker after January as he is wanted by Spurs and Liverpool.
Meanwhile Manchester City beat Bolton 1-0 thanks to a strike from skipper Carlos Tevez. The win keeps City in the top four and beefs up their title credentials, but manager Roberto Mancini knows his side needs to buck up and start raking up wins consistently if they are to challenge for a spot in the champions league next season. Mario Balotelli has served a three-match ban and will be available for this match if needed.
