Olympique Marseille will welcome Chelsea to the Stade Vélodrome on Wednesday 8 of December for their Champion’s League group F game.
The English premier league side have already qualified by winning all five of their group games and taking all fifteen points. Marseille too have qualified unless they lose on Wednesday and Spartak Moscow win by twelve goals. It’s a funny old game but the odds are on the side of the French club to progress. Despite both teams likely to be in the knockout stage this should be a good game to watch as there will be a wealth of talent on display.
Carlo Ancellotti will be hoping to revive his team’s form and could use the game to bring Frank Lampard back in to the line up, from the bench at least. The captain was due to start against Everton in the EPL but has picked up a setback in training. Marseille will not want to risk too much either as they are just one point clear at the top of Ligue 1 so injuries could prove costly.
