German side Werder Bremen welcome Inter Milan to the Weserstadion Tuesday December 7 2010 for their Champion’s League fixture.
The current champion’s are joint top on points in Group A with Spurs and a win here could put them through in first place which would give them an easier first knockout game. Rafael Benitez should be suitably impressed with his side’s character during the absence of Samuel Eto’o. In some respects you could almost say they have played better football as they have been forced to pass the ball about a lot more. Stankovic who got a hat-trick in his last game is certain to start on Tuesday and anything from him would be appreciated by the under-fire manager.
Werder Bremen stand no chance of qualification for the knockout stage and may not play a strong side. They would rather concentrate on getting points in the league and can’t afford to have players injured. They have been on the wrong end of some beatings lately and have obvious problems at the back which Inter Milan should have no problem exploiting.
