Bayern Munich will be searching for a fourth successive victory in the Champions League when they take on CFR Cluj in their next group stage match on Wednesday

The German champions have been impressive so far on the European stage and will assure themselves a place in the knockout stages of the competition if they manage to avoid defeat in their next match.

Coach Louis Van Gaal will be pleased with his side’s form in the competition and will be hopeful of wrapping up the qualification to the next round and turn the attention towards climbing up the league table in the domestic league.

Bayern were made to work hard by Cluj in their last match and needed two own goals in order to collect all three points from the game. Cluj had taken a shock lead through Cadu midway through the first half but own goals by Cadu and Cristian Panin gave Bayern a first half lead before Mario Gomez put the result beyond doubt in the 77th minute though Emmanuel Culio grabbed a consolation goal.

Coach Sorin Cartu was satisfied with his side’s performance on the pitch but expressed his frustration at the scoreline. The 55-year old will be expecting an improved performance from his side as he looks to remain in touch with the second qualifying spot.
