Everton face-off against West Brom this Saturday hoping to collect all three points and break into the top half of the league table.
The Toffees were lucky to escape with a 2-2 draw against Sunderland on Monday thanks to a late goal from Mikel Arteta. Tim Cahill had given the Toffees a lead in the 6th minute, but a brace from on-loan teenager Danny Welbeck gave the Black Cats a 2-1 advantage on 70 minutes, before Arteta restored parity. Everton boss David Moyes is still struggling to get his side to perform consistently and will hope they can start winning some games now.
Meanwhile West Brom have thrown away an excellent start to the season that saw them climb to the 6th spot on the league table. The Baggies are now hovering just 2 points above relegation zone after their 0-3 loss to Stoke last week. Matthew Etherington’s penalty and a brace from Jon Walters gave the visitors all three points. Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo will be hoping that his side can avoid slipping to a seventh loss this season and will want to come away from Goodison with at least one point in their kitty.
