Chelsea will be hoping to snap out of their poor run of form with a convincing victory when they take on Newcastle United in their next match on Sunday.
The dip in form has coincided with the sacking of Ray Wilkins as the assistant coach while media reports suggest that Carlo Ancelotti is unhappy over the turn of events and had tendered his resignation only for the board to reject it. The Blues will be keen to put an end to rumors and hold on to their place at the top of the league table by collecting all three points against Newcastle this weekend.
Newcastle United too will be looking to snap out of a poor run of their own by collecting at least a point on Sunday. Just one point from their last three games has seen the Magpies slip to 10th in the league table though manager Chris Hughton will be keen to repeat his side’s heroics from the Carling Cup where they beat Chelsea 4-3 early this season
