Manchester City will be hoping to ramp up their push for the title this season with a win over Stoke City when the two sides clash this weekend.
City got their title push back on track after a 1-4 win over Fulham thanks to a brace from Carlos Tevez and a goal each from Pablo Zabaletta and Yaya Toure. Even though Zoltan Gera netted a late goal for the home side in the 70th minute, it was too little, too late. The win takes the pressure off manager Roberto Mancini, who was under the cosh following two consecutive draws. Mario Balotelli misses this game as he is out with suspension, but Mancini has an otherwise fit side to choose from.
Stoke City on the other hand will be on a high following a 3-0 win over West Brom thanks to Matthew Etherington’s penalty and a brace from Jon Walters. Manager Tony Pulis will be a relieved man following this win as it takes the Potters to the 8th spot on the league table with 19 points from 14 games played so far.
