Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to build on their brilliant victory in the champions league by securing their first win in three games when they welcome Sunderland on Tuesday.

Spurs were not expected to provide any problems for European champions Inter Milan but Gareth Bale once again proved why he should be regarded as the best player in England by putting up another brilliant display to lead his side to a 3-1 win over the Italian side.

With Spurs losing ground to Manchester City in the race for a place inside the top four, manager Harry Redknapp will be hopeful that the Welsh winger’s form will prove to be the difference as he targets a top four finish for a second successive season.

Sunderland on the other hand are still reeling under their woeful display against arch rivals Newcastle United last weekend and manager Steve Bruce will be aware that his side will have to bounce back from that defeat quickly if they are to pull away from the relegation zone.
