West Brom will be hoping to return back to winning ways and increase pressure on Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini when the two teams meet in their Premier League match on Sunday.
After putting some excellent displays in their recent games, WBA suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Blackpool on Monday. The Baggies were reduced to nine men midway through the first half and while manager Roberto Di Matteo agreed that Gonzalo Jara deserved a red card, he was critical of referee Michael Oliver for sending off Pablo Ibanez.
Meanwhile Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is facing a player revolt at the club after a number of players expressing their unhappiness over his management at the club. Mancini’s troubles have been compounded by defeats in the last two games and unless City return to winning ways, the former Inter Milan manager could find himself out of a job.
City suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to Wolves last weekend in spite of dominating the chances early in the first half. City had taken a deserved lead through Emmanuel Adebayor midway through the first half only for Nenad Milijas to equalize before David Edwards scoring the winner midway through the second half.
Carlos Tevez once again misses out with a thigh injury while Michael Johnson is still a week away from full fitness
